Dark Skies -Black Pilsner

Roasty • Dry • Light-bodied • 4.9% abv

Dark Skies is a light-bodied black lager with hints of coffee and roasted marshmallow. Classic pilsner malt with the addition of midnight wheat malt, plus locally sourced pilsner yeast, imparts fruitcake and fresh dough flavors and aromas. Classic noble hops balance the flavors without bitterness. In the glass, it appears robust, but is deceivingly light and drinkable. You’ll get all of the dark and roasty flavors of a dark beer with a dry, refreshing light body and under 5.0% abv. A great year-round beer!

We named this beer in honor of International Dark Sky Association, an organization which combats light pollution. With this beer, we’re celebrating the beauty of the nighttime skies of the Texas Hill Country, and keeping the stars at night big and bright over Driftwood. Our neighbor to the west, Dripping Springs, was actually the first Dark Sky community in Texas and the sixth in the world!
