Community Beer Company1530 Inspiration Dr #200Dallas, TX75207 Map

Join us again next week!? This movement has been such a success that we think we should turn it into a weekly "happy hour" event in efforts to continually support our local craft beer industry. We hope to see you all next week on Friday, 4/3: same time, same place, same #NationwideCheers!

We believe it’s important that at a time like this the craft beer industry joins together to promote a sense of community, especially when many of our supporters are feeling isolated. Community Beer Company is leading the #NationwideCheers campaign in an effort to encourage our fans to support their local beer industry by sharing a pint “together” while practicing social distancing at home.

Wherever you may be, at 5pm on Friday, April 3rd we ask our friends, family, staff, colleagues, and loyal fans to raise a pint in unison to promote the sense of community and inclusiveness that the craft beer community has always provided its supporters. Using the hashtags #NationwideCheers and #SocialDistancing to share the experience we hope to foster a feeling of togetherness and unity.

Leading up to Friday the 3rd we ask everyone to drop by their hometown brewery and/or retail store to stock up on their favorite local craft brews for the event. It's important to support our local businesses as much as we can during this time!

We hope you decide to join us in this industry-wide effort to create a big moment of inclusiveness. Please share this event via social media channels, amongst co-workers, friends, family, and fans.

A big THANK YOU to all of our brewery supporters:

Best known for the wildly popular viral video series, “Guy On A Buffalo,” Jomo & The Possum Posse have made a name for themselves with their unique blend of cynicism, dead-eyed soul and anti-machismo honky-tonk.

Their cult video series has surpassed 30 million views, garnering national attention from NPR’s All Things Considered, Forbes, G4’s Attack of the Show, and a slew of major media outlets.

The band is led by Jomo Edwards, who’s award-wining lyrics tend to skate the line between the sardonic and the arcane… and over the past decade, JPP has established itself as one of the most talented, fresh and cerebrally entertaining live acts around.

In 2019, the band was selected “Best of Fest” at FronteraFest for the second year in a row at the long-running Austin Fringe Festival. The band’s programs highlight their brand of original music and comedy.

May 17, 2020, 5:00pm - May 17, 2020, 7:30pm

Vista Brewing13551 FM 150Driftwood, TX78619 Map

Join us Sunday, May 17th for an afternoon of live music under the oaks with Jan Flemming's Organ Trio!!

Jan Flemming is an accordion and keyboard player from Cologne, Germany, now based in Austin, Texas.

He began playing the accordion at the age of seven and was immediately fascinated by the variety of the instrument. At age eleven, he joined a cultural project to keep the traditional music of Cologne alive and was exposed to a broad spectrum of musical genres. He played in several bands and projects taught and coached by his mentor Nick Nikitakis. During which, he found his musical orientation playing Blues, Jazz, Country and World Music. Jan played across Europe and appeared on national television. His natural talent combined with prudent work ethic evolved into what would become Jan’s calling in life. At just fourteen years of age, he knew his passion was also his career path. The decision to move to Austin,Texas came in 2012 after visiting the city and experiencing the love for live music that helps define the culture there. Shortly after the move, Jan obtained a degree in Jazz Performance and Composition. With formal training completed, he concentrated his efforts on connecting with the local talent which garnered him lead positions in several bands. It was not long before he was able to establish a reputation in the music scene as a skilled and sought after accordion and keyboard player. The city recognized his contribution by voting him first place in the Category Best Miscellaneous Instrument for accordion at the 2016 Austin Music Awards.

He is a permanent band member of several bands, including Ulrich Ellison & Tribe with whom he won the 2015 Austin Music Awards for Best Blues Band. Other notable bands he is in are: Nakia and The Blues Grifters, Grupo Massa, Seu Jacinto, The Gritones, and Macaxeira Funk.

Jan proves that the accordion is an instrument that finds its home in many genres, from Blues, Zydeco, Jazz, Funk, Americana, and Rock to Brazilian, Greek, and World music. His passion is exploring these music cultures with his instrument and bringing this to audiences that probably have not experienced the accordion like this before.

Live Music: Strahan & The Good Neighbors

Live Music: Strahan & The Good Neighbors

May 31, 2020, 5:00pm - May 31, 2020, 7:30pm

Vista Brewing13551 FM 150Driftwood, TX78619 Map

Join us Sunday, May 31st for an afternoon of live music under the oaks with Strahan & The Good Neighbors!!

Strahan grew up in Carrollton, IL, a farm town near the Illinois and Mississippi rivers, where the countryside was an expanse of corn fields, ravines, bluffs, and tributaries snaking their way alongside the backroads. His father, Alvin Roscoe Strahan played lead guitar, his grandma, Nina Strahan, played banjo which later in life led to ukuleles, and his grandpa, George Schnelten, had an enduring love for singing and recording songs a capella at home--they all encouraged music in their own ways. When Doug was 12 years old, he was starting to get to some trouble, and so his father decided it was time to start teaching him how to play guitar, with a stylistically broad approach, ranging from rock n roll, to country, to jazz. This carried on in a very loose arrangement through his teens, all the while, Doug was also learning rock and metal tunes with the use of guitar tabs, not to mention writing songs. As kids do, he continued to get into trouble, but the addition of music to his life gave a much needed outlet for that youngster angst and his introverted tendencies. It also gave way to visions of a life outside of a small town. Rock on 20 years to the turn of the millennium, Strahan moved from his college town, Charleston, IL to Austin, TX.

After 13 years of playing lead guitar in various bands, as well as recording and co-leading Austin's strangest boogie-doom-beast, Chili Cold Blood and cosmic country purveyors of funky tonk, The Moonhangers, Doug released his debut solo album entitled “Coal Black Dreams, Late Night Schemes.” As much a stew pot of roots music as CCB and MH's previous albums, the solo record eases on in the direction of Blue-Eyed Soul but finds home on the bar stool of the Dew Drop Inn, The Horse Shoe Lounge, your neighborhood watering hole. It was a different direction for Strahan, much to do with his time playing and writing with The Memphis Strange, but the Gary Stewart-esque vibrato remains.

In 2015, he and Good Neighbors released the sophomore, self-titled album, Strahan & The Good Neighbors. It's country funk at it's finest, with touches of Little Feat, JJ Cale, and The Allman Bros.

For the next album, he set out to feature twin guitars front and center on six songs. The end result, produced by everyone in the band, was Twilight Drifter, released in November of 2017, best described as country rhythm and blues.

Whether you want to help "Save the Bees", have always been fascinated by honey bees, or would like to obtain an "Ag Exemption" on your 5-20 acres land using beekeeping as a qualifier, this is the "Going Further with Beekeeping"- Level 202 of our popular three-part "BECOMING A NATURAL BEEKEEPER SERIES" (BNB Series).
Attend all 3 levels (or this one and Level 303 if you already have a Level 101 equivalent experience) and obtain a Natural Beekeeper Certificate from the Bee Mindful Bee School.
