Join us at Vista Brewing in Driftwood for happy hour, mushroom costume contest, plus a talk and presentation about spooky and fascinating mushrooms that grow in Texas. We will learn how all mushrooms are magic and how fungi is entangled in all parts of our lives from beer to the soil we walk on. We will cover the basics on mycology, how fungi benefits our entire ecosystem, our health and more.

In November join us again at Vista Brewing for a log inoculation workshop and mushroom themed dinner that a portion of the ticket sales go to Central Texas Mycology.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Angel Schatz radiates passion for understanding the ecosystem of central Texas and making mycology education accessible to anyone who shares interest. She is also a member of leadership team of Austin Organic Gardeners; harmonizing vegetable gardening and mushroom growing, particularly by using recycled mushroom blocks. Formally an experience designer and animator in the tech world, she hopes to inspire more people dial into the wood-wide-web.
