Join us for the sweetest part of beekeeping! Our friends from BeeWeaver Apiaries will be onsite at Vista hosting a hands-on honey harvest experience where you will learn how to remove honey supers from hives, extract, strain, and bottle the liquid gold.
Our extracting course is small group (20 students max with 2 expert beekeepers) includes approximately two hours of extracting, and every student will go home with fresh honey they helped extract, bottle, and label. YUM! Get ready to get sticky!
Your ticket also includes a free pint of our collaboration beer, DreamWeaver, a braggot made with 183 pounds of BeeWeaver’s Texas wildflower honey! Stop in to Vista early for lunch, or stay after class for dinner from our farm-fresh menu.
We will have two class sessions, 20 participants each. The first class from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. is sold out. We have added a second class from 4 – 6 p.m.
This is a great course for beekeepers and non-beekeepers. Protective gear (hat/veil) is recommended for pulling the honey from the hives. BeeWeaver does offer loaner gear if you do not own your own.
For 130 years the Weaver family has kept bees in Texas. Laura and Dan Weaver offer queens, bees, honey, equipment, education, bee centric events, and more. BeeWeaver’s retail store and headquarters are based in beautiful Navasota, TX.
Policies: Minimum age is 12. Sorry, no refunds. Class will be held rain or shine.
