The latest release from our barrel program is an unfruited, mixed-culture farmhouse ale which pays homage to both our Hill Country well water and the beer styles of the Senne Valley of Belgium. We draw all of our water at Vista from the Trinity Aquifer, 450 feet below the surface. Glen Rose is just one of the formations that make up this aquifer, providing us with beautiful, mineral-rich water. A blend of six cultures produces a mildly tart ale that will cellar well in bottle for years to come.
This beer is pleasantly sour with hints of dark fruit and leather. Golden in color, with notes of red wine, vanilla and oak from the freshly-emptied wine barrels. We invite you to sample in our Tasting Room, paired with a fresh farm-to-table meal. The fruity and tannic flavors are a natural pairing with soft cheese such as Brie, a grilled steak, or fruit desserts.
As with all of our barrel program beers, Glen Rose is made with 100% Texas grown and malted grains from Blacklands Malt and Barton Springs Mill and house-aged whole cone hops. Glen Rose was aged in freshly-emptied red blend barrels from our friends at Bending Branch Winery in Comfort, TX.
